Our vision
With an international edge, Filmfest Sundsvall wants to be one of the central, and most ambitious Swedish film events, a hub for the film business in Norrland - and a rich contribution to the film culture in Västernorrland, and all of Norrland.
The festival has grown out of a desire to create a dynamic cultural event, presenting new and interesting motion pictures in both short and longer formats, without any hierarchy in between. An event where music and other cultural expressions also have a central place, and in our seminar programme we want to immerse ourselves in all the different parts of the film craft, and build bridges to other areas of art and education. Through viewings for children and young people, we want to broaden and strengthen their experience of what film can be.
