Tobacco Barns

Feature film debut by director Rocío Mesa, inspired by her childhood in southern Spain. A fantasy film with two parallel stories that takes place among the tobacco plantations during the summer in a small village in the Sierra Nevada. 7-year-old Vera, who comes with her mother from Madrid to visit her grandparents and their tobacco farm, and play with her little friends in the abandoned tobacco barns. And Nieves, a teenager who lives in the same village and works on her family's farm all day. Unlike Vera, she feels trapped in the life she has. She dreams of leaving everything behind for a new life. Both girls are driven by their sense of adventure.
