Almodóvar and Gómez have described their joint work as making the scenography a character of its own. Here, in their first film together, that mindset is definitely visible. You can't take your eyes off the well-thought-out design, just like the brilliant acting by Cruz, Bardem, Neri et al. The Lusts of the Flesh is a tragicomic relationship merry-go-round that begins in the middle of labor and the subsequent bus delivery of one of the main characters - Victor. 20 years later, Victor tries to follow up on a pub date with Elena, a seemingly gentlemanly act - they had arranged, and he's fixed pizza - which leads to the shooting of police officer David.
