Winner of Stone City Award 2024 for Best Swedish Short
SAMASSA VENEESSÄ directed by Mia Malviniemi and Mervi Junkkonen.
Jury statement: A film with great humanity expressed by the limits of the aging body and boundless mind. The delicate camera movements and intimate focus as the two subjects connect and flow with each other demonstrates beautiful and careful filmmaking.
The winning film receives the Stone City Award: 30 000 SEK from Swedish Film Institute, 20 000 SEK from Scen och Film and an award statuette created by Cecilia Tjärnberg.
Special Mention: LIV by Hillevi Gustafson
The film asks the question, "Who do I want to be?" with lots of energy and freshness.
