During a week's family vacation, the characters' insides and outsides are depicted here, side by side, in pictures more often than words.
Mamma Mona, sweetly portrayed by Ramona Milano, directs dinners and celebrations to be able to put out the perfect holiday image while more or less all the different lives of the family members are hardly what they are trying to be on the surface. When are you an adult? When should one's parents stop having to give their permission so that you can spend the night as you wish? We get to follow the main character Renata's journey up close but without too much clarity or explanation. It is what it is, while a whole world seems to exist under the skin of each character. A film that vibrates with warmth, humor, and life.
