Industry Days: Filmfest Music
Music Videos Today and Tomorrow
MTV shut down its music channels this year. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean the music video is dead. On the contrary, it seems to be a remarkably resilient art form, with several videos attracting attention over the past year. Still, it provides a symbolic starting point for a conversation about the current state and future of the music video. Each participant has been asked to present a music video of their choice and use it as a starting point to discuss current trends and share their thoughts on where the format is heading. Participants include Jenny Ericsson from Lucille; filmmaker Måns Nyman, a jury member in the music video category at the Manifest Awards; Patrik Frisk from Sundsvall-based Ninetone; and Sundsvall-based filmmaker Alvin Lindblom.
